Any help will be appreciated. Bought a one month service plan with AOL to fix it. Many hours, over three different service calls, remoting to my computer etc etc etc could not fix. Called again tonight. They want to charge more money. They said my problems are unique. I found this site. Haha … my problems are NOT unique. Am going to try to figure out how to get gmail to pick up the verizon e-mails. Anyone try that? With any success? I think with some of the content of the article above, I was able to conjure a solution.
Previous desktop died, so I could not check the settings for Outlook. When I installed Office with Outlook on the new computer, and opened the Outlook icon, I was then met with errors on the setup screen. I used POP pop. I also tried IMAP. I am using Outlook and cannot seem to get Outlook to connect using these directions or two or three others on the internet thus far. Thank you for this! This worked for me — sort of.
I am using MailBird. I was able to receive messages and send messages. However, the sent messages did not show up to where they were sent. But thank you! I can now keep trying. This brings up a new window with a password — mine was 4 groups of 4 alpha characters. Highlight and copy, then enter this password in Outlook, instead of the password you use to login to AOL email in the browser. Thank you! Finally this generated password worked. This is different than the Yahoo log-in password.

After hours of frustration and hunting down fixes online I came across this one from Derek about having the Account Security generate the new password….. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Also I had to enter the whole email acct info including the correct email password. It stopped working 2 days ago. It cannot connect to the servers.
It will not connect to the verizon. Anyone have a solution? OK, figured out a solution. You have to go to your mail. Then select Outlook Desktop. It will generate a 16 character code.
Copy that code and use it as your PW. If using IMAP, you will have to change the incoming and outgoing servers to imap. You do that by selecting manual setup and after it fails, change settings. Use that same 16 character PW and it seems to work. Did for me anyway. Hope that helps. I have also been using Outlook with my verizon.
My Outlook stopped receiving email early on July 12, but my aol account was still receiving email. Somehow I managed to hit the right sequence of events to get my email working again. I have had issues with verizon. Marie here again, Tried same fix to get Outlook on android phone to work through Outlook Android app passcode and still cant get emails to drop to phone. Derek, all, any suggestions there? I tried both the Outlook desktop and Outlook android app options.
Marie here again, gave it another try and Android phone email now appears to be updating using same AOL generated app password but for Android Phone vs. Perhaps user error last time. Thanks again Derek. I had not changed anything at all. Could someone tell me what the correct server settings incoming and outgoing should be for Verizon. And who in the world can we go to for support without having to pay? My Verizon.
My Verizon mail on my Mac desktop stopped working on July 28th. Not working on my iPhone 11 either. I can only get my mail by going to AOL homepage mail account. My work around is having all my emails forwarded from aol to my Gmail account, I added Gmail to Mac mail.
I was able to add AOL to my phone. Very confusing, I had a headache trying to fix it. Settings must of been changed. July 27 all but 2 of Mail accounts through Verizon went down on my Mac desktop. Port settings, SMTP, etc.
